Your Insights

This month's card says "dream a dream of dreams".

We invite you to post your interpretation of its meaning, your experiences integrating its concept into your daily life, etc.

Manifesting Your Heart's Desires

As I contemplate the beginning of this monthly conversation we are to have together and the encounters some of us have had during the past month, I find myself full of excitement and anticipation for what lies ahead of us all! Then I am momentarily reminded that not all are finding it easy to believe that their heart’s desires will manifest.

Thirty one days ago, and still counting, we stepped into 2007 with great expectations. With our well thought out plans, we prepared ourselves to welcome in a multitude of new life experiences. Determined, we began this New Year with a certainty of all our pending successes. Considering anything less than success ahead of us was unthinkable! We proclaimed ourselves ‘Master Creators’ and forged forward without even a passing glance behind us.

Yet in this moment, with such a short amount of time having passed, for some, doubt and disappointment has already begun to resurface. Discouraged by the lack of ‘measurable results’, the motivation to remain focused on the creation of desired outcomes wanes. Some, if they haven’t already accepted defeat are preparing themselves to do so. Others are readying themselves for a long battle ahead with, at best, questionable
outcomes. The image of dreams fulfilled is slowly fading.

It is especially in these times (as well as within every moment) that we need to remember that we are always, consciously or unconsciously, creating our experiences through our thoughts, emotions, words and actions. Whether we are able to remain aware of it or not, this is a process that is forever in constant motion and is what gives birth to all the experiences we have. It is also a process we inherently know to be true. The proof of this is often found in our own accounts of the many different types of experiences we’ve lived through—be them ‘good’ or ‘bad’. To create the experiences we most desire we need to intentionally use this process so we may have the joyful experiences we truly want.

First, we must be certain of what we want. Second, we must give our full attention to that which we want. Sounds simple enough, but too often what we tend to keep our attention on is the very thing/situation that we don’t want, or that which we want to change. By doing this we create more of precisely what we don’t want. Call it the ‘Law of Attraction’ or call it by another name, but consider this foremost—we cannot recognize that which we do not acknowledge to be true, or at least acknowledge as a possible truth. To understand this point, let’s consider the all too familiar battle with weight many attest to having.

For years a woman starts each New Year with a resolution to eat better and exercise with the ultimate goal of losing weight because she sees herself as ’fat’. Each year she begins her quest with great determination. She maintains her diet and exercise plan with tremendous vigilance. No one is able to tempt her to stray from her plan. However, year after year, she eventually abandons her quest because she feels her efforts are fruitless. She still sees herself as ‘fat’. ‘What’s the point,’ she says, ‘I’ll always be fat!’ Then a day comes when she falls in love and she begins to plan her own wedding. In her mind’s eye she sees precisely what this special day will look like, including herself. As she begins the preparations for her wedding she, again, embarks on her quest to lose weight. The days, weeks and months pass by with mounting joy and anticipation for her upcoming wedding. When her wedding day arrives, this woman stands before her new husband with great pride, a new slender figure and feeling absolutely stunning!

If we look closely at this story, we can see that it was not until she started to plan for her wedding did this woman’s attention shift from her self-image of being ‘fat’ to an image of a slender figure. And though determined, year after year, to attain her goal, this woman did not portray any joy / excitement in the anticipation of her desired weight loss manifesting and, therefore, could not even recognize any weight loss that she most likely was experiencing with each effort she made.

It just isn’t enough to know what it is that we desire. Nor is it enough to take action
toward that goal. To allow the creative process to work, to welcome the manifestation of our heart’s desires, we must support our intentions with taking care in the words we speak, the direction of our thoughts, the guiding messages our emotions are providing us (i.e. if it feels good, keep doing it...if it feels bad, change your focus of attention!)...we need to be diligent in our practice of paying attention to what we are inviting to manifest as our life experience!

The answer we will always receive is, ’YES!’ Whatever it is that we are placing our
attention on, the answer is always, ’YES!’…’I’m too fat’ - ‘YES!’…’I am going to have a great time’ - ’YES!’…’This is going to be hard to do’ - ’YES!’…’I’m going to live in a house like that’ - ’YES!’… ’This relationship isn’t going to work out’ - ’YES!’… ‘I’m going to be prosperous in this venture’ - ’YES!’… ’YES!’… ’YES!’...!!! Sometimes the experience is immediate, at other times it seems a bit slower in coming, but the outcome will always be the same, ‘YES!’

So, as we close our conversation for this month, the message for us all to keep in mind is:
To create the life experience I want, I need to be clear about what it is I want to experience. I need to give life to the manifestation of that desire by welcoming it with my supportive words, actions, thoughts and emotions. I need to remain focused on what it is I want, rather than on what I don’t want. I know that whatever it is that I give my attention to is what will come to be my experience!

Now, go forth this month with confidence that your dreams, your wants, your desires, and all that you give your attention to are coming into manifestation!

With great expectations for all,
Sandy
